WHAT IS AN INGUINAL HERNIA?
An inguinal hernia happens when a small part of tissue or intestine pushes through a weak spot in the abdominal wall near the groin. It often causes a visible lump or bulge, which can feel uncomfortable, especially when standing, coughing, or lifting.
While hernias are common, they won’t go away on their own. Without support, they can become painful and, in some cases, lead to serious complications.
WHAT IS A STRANGULATED HERNIA
A strangulated hernia occurs when part of the intestine becomes trapped, cutting off its blood supply. This is a medical emergency and requires immediate surgery. Symptoms can include:
